Article: Study of organic nutrients in soil versus management types
These guys studied many different soils under different management practices from native forest to permanent pasture to wheat/fallow. Their focus was to measure the amount of organic nutrients (bio-available) and how it changed with disturbance. It's a scientific university article but still worth the read. Also, they appear to have links to other articles that cite this one and expand on the subject.
