Soil Keepers Meeting Feb 1, 2019

Greetings, fellow Soil Keepers.

We are pleased to announce our next Soil Keepers meeting for Friday, Feb 1, 2019. We will be at the Boulevard Grange Hall 3890 Hwy 201 Ontario, OR from 3-5 pm.

It looks like a busy conference schedule in our area this winter dealing with soil health topics, which is great news. Just a reminder for those folks not familiar with our group, we try to feature local producers that are implementing different soil health principals. Our informal style is meant to encourage discussion so we may all learn from each other and speed up success.

On the schedule this time we have Mr. Matt Rockwell, an Ontario area cattleman, to talk about how he manages his cattle and pasture by implementing rotational grazing strategies. Shawn Nield has agreed to do a little microscope work on some soil and compost samples to show us the great ecosystem hiding within our soil. Finally, Tyson Meeks has some information on wide corn rows and interseeding cover crops.

As far as I know there is no other conference scheduled this day so we hope everyone can join us.
